Danish architect and designer Viggo Boesen had an influential career, establishing himself within Danish modernsim of the 1930s and 40s, pioneering organic furniture design. From his workshop he designed a collection of rattan and upholstered furniture with the emphasis on organic forms and flowing lines. Boesen was awarded the Danish Wicker-maker design guild for the Fox Chair in 1936.
